What certifications does Benexia hold?

Benexia holds FSSC 22000 (GFSI-recognized), HACCP, GMP and GlobalG.A.P. certifications, EU and USDA/NOP organic certification, and is Non-GMO, certified gluten-free, Kosher and Halal. It is a Certified B Corporation™ and a member of GOED (The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3).

Is chia approved for sale in the European Union?

Yes. Benexia owns the first Novel Food authorization in Europe to commercialize chia oil (Article 4 of Regulation (EC) 258/97). More broadly, chia (Salvia hispanica) is an authorized Novel Food in the EU under Regulation (EU) 2015/2283, covering whole and ground seed and partially-defatted chia powder across a range of food categories.
